So … about the end of this Charlotte Hornets season.
It has not been good. At all. Saying it’s been bad, though, doesn’t even seem to encapsulate. Like, we’re talking worst-losing-streak-of-the-season bad, a five-game stinker of a stretch in which this team invented new ways to lose games.
Or, rather, now a six-game skid, after Tuesday’s embarrassing 144-117 blowout loss to the Indiana Pacers in the Play-In Tournament. That loss not only officially ended the Hornets’ season — they finished the year 33-40 — but also threatened the momentum this young team had built over the course of its first 67 games. Tuesday was that disheartening, a game the team never looked particularly interested in playing, and especially not winning.
