We’re less than a week into the season, so don’t worry, everyone. We still have plenty of time to overreact to teams and players who either started slow or blasted out of the gate (I hear you, Bulls fans).

But for now, we need to lead with what is undoubtedly the biggest story of the first week of the season: Holy crap do we have some rookies!

It’s pretty rare to see so many rookies play this well, this early. Usually, a draft class is like a bottle of wine: You have to let it age and breathe a little before you really know what you have. Even the eventual Rookie of the Year contenders typically need a few weeks to get up to speed.

This year, not so much! It’s more like cold beer from the fridge — we just cracked it open and started chugging.

Look at what this crew did just last night:

Houston’s Jalen Green made eight of his ten 3-point attempts in a 30-point outing at Boston. He’s 19.

Oklahoma City’s  Josh Giddey – who just turned 19 himself — nearly posted a triple-double against the Sixers (19-8-7) while helping his otherwise miserable team play a quasi-competitive game in Philly.

Sacramento’s Davion Mitchell scored 22 points off the bench while playing his usual rottweiler perimeter defense in the Kings’ loss to Golden State.
