U.S. National Sled Team Named Best of May Finalist for Team USA Awards


Last month at the 2019 Para Ice Hockey World Championship in Ostrava, Czech Republic, the U.S. National Sled Hockey team captured its fourth gold medal in world championship history. This is Team USA’s eighth-consecutive medal at the world championship.

The U.S. went undefeated 4-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L), including a perfect 3-0 record in Group A with wins over rival Canada (3-1) and South Korea (4-0). Team USA came from behind three different times to defeat Canada, 3-2, in overtime in the gold-medal game.

Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) led the U.S. with a tournament-best 14 points (7-7) in five games, earning Best Forward of the Tournament, as well as Player of the Game in the gold-medal game. Jack Wallace (Franklin Lakes, N.J.), Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.) and Josh Pauls (Green Brook, N.J.) also had impressive performances, each tallying eight points throughout the tournament.
