Trump slams Fox News for airing Obama's 'fake speech': 'Very disappointing'

President Trump repeatedly lashed out at Fox News Tuesday, calling it “very disappointing” that the network would air former President Barack Obama’s full stump speech for Democratic presidential nominee Joseph R. Biden.

“Fox puts him on all the time, and they put Sleepy Joe on all the time,” Mr. Trump told reporters before boarding Marine One for a campaign rally in Lansing, Michigan. “And what they should do is they should show the picture of Sleepy Joe yesterday, when he rushed to Pennsylvania because he saw that I had 25,000 people at each event. When he rushed to Pennsylvania and he did a statement and he got lost in a fog, they should show that.

“Fox is very disappointing,” he said, adding that “this would not have happened with Roger Ailes, I can tell you that,” referring to the network’s late former chairman who resigned amid sexual misconduct allegations in 2016.

Mr. Trump had previously slammed Fox News while Mr. Obama’s speech in Orlando, Florida, was in progress, tweeting, “Now @FoxNews is playing Obama’s no crowd, fake speech for Biden, a man he could barely endorse because he couldn’t believe he won. Also, I PREPAID many Millions of Dollars in Taxes.”

“The biggest difference between now and 2016 is @FoxNews,” he wrote. “They are a whole different deal. Despite this, our campaign is doing much better, with bigger crowds and even more (much!) enthusiasm, than we had in 2016. Big Debate & SCOTUS Win! Real Polls have us winning everywhere!”

During his speech, Mr. Obama slammed Mr. Trump’s coronavirus response and said the country could not afford four more years of his incompetence.

“What’s his closing argument?” Mr. Obama said. “That people are too focused on COVID. He said this at one of his rallies. … He is jealous of COVID’s media coverage.”
