The Cock Destroyers Are Splitting Up, and I’m Not Sure the Gays Are Going to Recover

Through eyes flooded with tears, I must type to report: The Cock Destroyers are no more. After captivating the world with their no-holds-barred approach to all things steamy sex and hardcore porn, all signs point to a split between the internet’s favorite British bisexual porn stars.

The only female porn stars whose fanbase ostensibly includes more gay men than straight, The Cock Destroyers, otherwise known as Sophie Anderson and Rebecca More, first blew onto the scene in fall 2018, when one of their videos went viral and immediately became a widespread meme. “Do you know what we are?” More inquired in the (obviously NSFW) video. “We’re fucking Cock Destroyers! Aren’t we, babe?” Immediately, Anderson chimed in, “Cock fucking Destroyers!”

From there, Anderson and More only became more famous thanks to their campy, over-the-top videos and overall sense of unapologetic sex positivity. For The Cock Destroyers, being turned on and uncontrollably horny was never something to be ashamed of; it was a sensation to openly embrace and be proud of — a mentality the LGBTQ+ community could easily latch onto.

Last fall, the pair broke through yet another barrier when they became TV stars with their popular reality television competition series Slag Wars: The Next Destroyer. Across four episodes, More and Anderson teamed up to put a group of on-the-rise sex workers to the test in an attempt to find the one worthy of the title of “Next Cock Destroyer.” Taking cues from popular franchises like Project Runway and RuPaul’s Drag Race, the gay porn studio-produced series actually proved to be surprisingly tender, with both Cock Destroyers teaching all their contestants that the key to being a true Cock Destroyer actually starts by feeling sexy within.

Unfortunately, judging by a series of tweets, all posted Thursday, it appears that we will no longer be getting any new Cock Destroyer content — at least not from the two women as a cohesive unit. The root cause for the pair’s split is murky for the time being, as neither party has offered a concrete statement about what’s going on. But based on today’s deliberately elusive comments, it’s clear that the relationship between the two ladies is…destroyed.

“Hi my wonderful guys, girlies, and non-binary friends! You know I believe in only welcoming positivity into my life, so I wanted to address this,” said Sophie Anderson in a somewhat cryptic tweet. “Rebecca & I are parting ways. I feel this is the best choice for everyone’s health and happiness.”

“I realise you can’t love people fully without loving yourself,” she noted in a follow up. “I’m so proud of all the work [The Cock Destroyers] did. I promise you that I have a big project in the works, slags!” With a GIF of a teddy bear blowing out a kiss, Anderson signed off, “This isn’t the end, just a start on a new journey – and what could be more exciting than that?”

For her part, Rebecca More is not taking the split so amicably. In her own cryptic tweet addressing the split, the other (former) Cock Destroyer said, “Just read a [vicious] email from someone who I thought was a friend. Showed it to my mum as I was questioning the things that have been said about me. Genuinely sick to my stomach.” “Block and delete. Move on,” she added later.

In a separate follow up, More wrote, “The email I got wasn’t ‘positivity’ [crying laughing emoji] Honestly drop me out of the lies.” More included a GIF of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Seinfeld character, Elaine Benes, telling Jerry Seinfeld, “Fake!” in the tweet.

Given the pair’s massive fanbase, it’s no surprise that news of their breakup is already being taken quite hard. “the cock destroyers divorce is more devastating than jlo, bezos, and the gates’ combined,” tweeted one user. “I need to know Joe Biden’s plan to reunite the Cock Destroyers,” tweeted another. And in a sentiment I’m sure all (queer) children of divorce can relate to, a third Twitter user said, “The Cock Destroyers splitting up has affected me more than my parents splitting up.”

Full disclosure, I’m not a child of divorce — my parents never married — but I still stand in solidarity. RIP Cock Destroyers. You’ll be missed.
