Suns’ Jae Crowder to sit out training camp as sides work on trade: Sources

The Phoenix Suns and Jae Crowder have “mutually agreed” that the veteran forward will not participate in training camp, the team announced Sunday. Sources tell The Athletic that both sides are working on a trade.

Crowder’s last three NBA seasons have consisted of back-to-back runs to the NBA Finals with Miami in 2020 and Phoenix in 2021. He also helped the Suns to a league- and franchise-best 64 wins in 2021-22.

A key part of the Suns rotation, Crowder averaged 9.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 67 games last season. In his two years in Phoenix, the team has gone 115-39.
