Still got it! Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane rolls back the years alongside sons Enzo, Theo and Luca in France for five-a-side tournament

  • Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane pulled on his boots for a five-a-side event
  • On his birthday the Real manager played alongside sons Enzo, Theo and Luca
  • Zidane’s nephew Driss also filled out the family squad for the Z5 tournament
  • Teams competed for the right to take on the Zidane family in the final match

Zinedine Zidane showed he has still got it as the Real Madrid boss put together a family team for the final of the Z5 football tournament.

Zidane, who turned 47 on Sunday, took to the field in Aix-en-Provence alongside sons Enzo Fernandez, Theo and Luca, with nephew Driss completing the line-up.

The 1998 World Cup winner was the star attraction as the crowds gathered pitchside and he showed he had not lost any of the wow factor he possessed in his playing days.

Enzo, 24, is no longer a Real Madrid player as he now turns out for Rayo Majadahonda in Spain’s second tier.

Luca, 21, is a goalkeeper at Madrid and is currently competing with Thibaut Courtois and Keylor Navas to catch his dad’s attention and ultimately win a spot in Real Madrid’s first team.

Zidane’s other son Theo is a 17-year-old midfielder who competes for Los Blancos’ Castilla side as he continues his development.

So, with that kind of footballing arsenal on one side, the Zidane family squad were well placed to dominate the Z5 final.

Dressed in a red and white cut, not similar to what Real Madrid typically wear each week, Zidane was all smiles as he dictated proceedings in possession, showing everyone else on the pitch how it is done.

The event had been taken across 12 cities and had seen 250 teams compete for the right to take on Team Zidane in the final out in France.

A women’s team and a men’s team who turned out victors in their respective rounds got the chance to go head-to-head against one of the greatest to ever play the game in Zidane.

Between the matches the Real Madrid manager was all smiles and was obliging in signings autographs and taking photos.

Zidane’s nephew Driss spoke of the unspoken chemistry that exists between the whole group – and says that is why they excel together on the pitch.

‘It’s really a successful afternoon, everyone had fun, and there was a very good level in front of us,’ Driss ZidanE said, as reported by 20minutes.fr

‘In the family, we all play with the same philosophy, we play in passes, and it’s cool to see people happy.’
