Republican Rep. Ralph Abraham, who is running for governor in Louisiana, launched a campaign video Thursday that declared “there are only two genders.”
In the video, Mr. Abraham rattles off a list of “truths,” including his belief that “life begins at conception” and “our taxes are too high.”
“President Trump is doing a great job,” he says in the ad. “Facts matter more than feelings. The Second Amendment is self-explanatory. And as a doctor, I can assure you, there are only two genders.”
Mr. Abraham, a retired medical doctor who was a member of the Army National Guard, is currently the front-runner in the GOP primary race against businessman Eddie Rispone. The party’s nominee will take on Democratic Gov. Jon Bel Edwards.
