Rafael Nadal projected Paris Masters draw: Roger Federer battle, Novak Djokovic in final

A week after marrying his long-time girlfriend Xisca Perello, Rafael Nadal is in Paris and looking to build form ahead of the ATP Finals.

Nadal has not played a competitive match since winning the US Open in September and injured his hand at the Laver Cup.

But the Spaniard came through an exhibition match with Novak Djokovic on Thursday and is targeting his first win at the tournament.

After a first-round bye, Nadal will play either Adrian Mannarino or a qualifier in the second round.

The level of the opponent could then rise in the third round with a potential clash against Stan Wawrinka or Marin Cilic.

Nadal could then have a US Open rematch against Matteo Berrettini, who is fighting for a place at the ATP Finals, in the quarter-finals.

The semi-finals raises the tantalising prospect of the 41st showdown with Roger Federer.

And should Nadal reach the final, world No 1 Novak Djokovic or in-form Daniil Medvedev could be waiting.
