Pack Your Bags for Season 2 of The White Lotus

What’s scarier than the consequence-free exploits of wealthy white people? Very little — and now we can all ring in Halloween with a bang, because The White Lotus season 2 is premiering on HBO on October 30.

The first season of the hit social satire took viewers to a Hawaiian resort in the titular White Lotus chain of luxury hotels. Actors Murray Bartlett and Jennifer Coolidge both earned Emmys for their “supporting” roles as the unhinged hotelier Armand and the equally unhinged heiress Tanya McQuoid-Hunt — although frankly, we think Bartlett deserved an Emmy solely for bringing that iconic [ahem] rimshot to primetime television

Season two is aptly titled The White Lotus: Sicily; per Deadline, the series will be set at — you guessed it — an “exclusive Sicilian resort,” and much like the first season, will “follow the exploits of various guests and employees over the span of a week.” The only known returning star from season one is Jennifer Coolidge, who will once again play McQuoid-Hunt, alongside a whole new cast of characters. That includes, much to our delight, Aubrey Plaza, who will be playing Harper Spiller, a “newly wealthy” woman thanks to her husband’s professional success, per Deadline. Harper is visiting Italy with Ethan’s college roommate and Cameron’s wife, Daphne. Definitely sounds like we’ll be watching a super normal vacation with zero tension whatsoever.

Additionally, Sopranos alum Michael Imperioli stars as Dominic Di Grasso, who’s described in the Deadline announcement as “a Hollywood producer visiting Sicily with his elderly father, Bert (F. Murray Abraham), and post-college son, Albie (Adam DiMarco), to explore their ancestral roots.” Last but not least, we get to meet Tanya’s husband, Greg, played by John Gries, who is described as “less than pleased to find her assistant invited on their romantic getaway,” and the aforementioned assistant Portia, played by Haley Lu Richardson. Judging from how the first season played out, we’re sure Portia will find more adventure than she bargained for in The White Lotus season 2.

The White Lotus: Sicily premieres at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO on October 30, and will also be available for streaming on HBO Max.
