‘Nobody wins forever’: Team USA’s stunning loss snaps 78-game win streak


Sixteen thoughts for Andrew Bogut’s 16 points in Australia’s stunning 98-94 upset of Team USA in a basketball friendly Saturday, halfway around the world.

1. I was not in Australia to see this. Like many of you, I woke up, wiped the crud out of my eyes and shook my phone to fix the screen. Clearly, what I was seeing was a mistake, right?

By my count, when including all Olympic, World Cup, and exhibition games since then, Team USA was riding a 78-game winning streak before losing Saturday to the Boomers.
