Matt Barnes was ejected from son’s youth game, had to coach from hallway

Matt Barnes may be retired, but he’ll never stop giving referees the business.

In a post to his Instagram Story on Sunday, the ex-NBA swingman revealed that he was ejected from his son’s youth basketball game over the weekend after getting hit with two technical fouls. Also included was a funny video of Barnes having to coach from the hallway as a result of the ejection.

“Some s— will never change,” Barnes wrote in the post. “At least Ts don’t cost me 2500 no more … Daddy got a double tech and ejected so he’s gotta coach from the hallway.”

The 39-year-old Barnes last played for the Golden State Warriors in 2016-17, winning his first NBA championship with them after 14 professional seasons.

During his career, Barnes was known as an enforcer who was not afraid to get into it with opponents and referees alike. At least this time around it was an official and not a fan who drew Barnes’ ire.
