With Santa Anita’s closing day now less than 24 hours away on Sunday, there will be a mandatory payout in the track’s popular 20 cent Single Ticket Rainbow Pick Six Jackpot, which has a carryover from Saturday of $65,836. There were four consolation tickets today with six winners, each worth $26,309.80.
In addition to the Rainbow Six, all other exotic wagers will operate with a mandatory payout in place on Sunday, with first post time for a 10-race card at 1 p.m.
The Rainbow Six will commence with race five, which has an approximate post time of 3:18 p.m. PT.
A pair of Grade III, $100,000 stakes will highlight Sunday’s program, the American Stakes, at one mile on turf and the San Juan Capistrano, at 1 ¾ miles on turf. These races have been carded as the fifth and eighth on the closing day docket. In addition to the two graded stakes, the $200,000 Melair, for three year old fillies bred or sired in California at a mile and one sixteenth, has been slotted at race six.
