Kawakami: James Wiseman, Steve Kerr, the Warriors’ standards and what comes next


James Wiseman showed up — twice, under immense public scrutiny — which should not be lost in the hurly-burly of the time he didn’t.

It’s all part of the Wiseman discussion now, of course. It’s all under the spotlight. It’s not going away. Wiseman missed a regular and required COVID-19 test during the All-Star break, which made him ineligible to practice on Wednesday and Steve Kerr disciplined the rookie center for it by holding him out of the first three quarters of Thursday’s blowout loss to the Clippers in Los Angeles.

Yeah, the Warriors wanted to set the tone for the rest of the season coming out of the break and man, did they ever. Mostly by accident.
