This week might be more about celebrating the United States of America, but last week had some memorable moments around the hockey world:
3ICE Is Already Providing Highlight Reel Goals
Thought hockey season was over?
Not quite.
3ICE, the professional 3-on-3 league, is up and running, and they’ve already provided a few highlight-reel goals. It’s going to be hard to beat the goal scored by Team LecLair’s Brandon Hawkins.
Anyone bold enough to pull this off in a game should really be awarded another goal because of how cool it was.
Almost Every Hockey Star Has Played In The Brick Tournament
After a two-year hiatus, the Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament finally returned to West Edmonton Mall this year.
The novice tournament has been a staple for some of the most elite youth hockey players worldwide, with many of the game’s top stars playing in it at least once in their lives.
This past week, fans looked back at the performance of Calgary Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau, who put an absolute beating on the event in 2003.
Even as a 10-year-old, you could see he had something special.
Ryan McDonagh’s fun Zoom Conference
Not a bad way to end the weekend.
During Ryan McDonagh’s post-trade press conference over the weekend, McDonagh’s kids opened the door to see their dad taking questions from the media. He handled it as well as you can.
Full credit to McDonagh for not missing a beat even as his young ones broke into the room with what may have been something important to tell him from the sounds of it.
