Two moments that shaped Portland’s Game 4 victory over Denver never happened on the court.
Before the game, inside the Trail Blazers’ locker room, center Jusuf Nurkic said he was shown a recent tweet from former NBA center Kendrick Perkins, who now works for ESPN. The tweet was from late Thursday night, after Game 3, and it called Nurkic and Enes Kanter the “worst defensive bigs in the NBA.”
“I just heard clown saying I was the worst defensive player in the league,” Nurkic said.
Even though Nurkic tried to say the tweet didn’t motivate him, he certainly played inspired.
