Bam’s block was huge. But the Heat don’t take Game 1 without their closer


If coffee’s for closers, should the guy who makes the game-winning block get free doughnuts at his favorite coffee shop?

Bam Adebayo tried to make his case to Jimmy Butler following Miami’s 117-114 Game 1 overtime victory over the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday night.

“You should start making doughnuts,” the Heat’s shot-swatting, pick-setting, do-it-all big man suggested to Butler, who has been selling coffee inside the bubble for $20 a cup and reportedly is serious about starting his own business called “Big Face Coffee.”

Butler didn’t care much for Adebayo’s doughnut suggestion, but he sure was happy Adebayo had his back defending the rim when Jayson Tatum came charging toward it violently with the basketball.

“This is why Bam is the heart and soul of our team,” Butler said.
