‘We’re all in this together’: Celtics’ young stars try to navigate rough stretch

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were not able to appreciate their All-Star Game berths properly.

Sure, they were excited to hear about their selections, which were announced Tuesday night. But the Celtics have been trapped in the middle of a tailspin. Not even such an impressive individual accomplishment could allow Tatum and Brown to forget about their team’s troubles. Tatum said he did not enjoy the news for long.

“Then, it’s like, damn, I look at our record and where we’re at,” he said. “And it’s hard to really focus on that when we aren’t where we want to be at as a team.”

Tatum and Brown have felt the weight of their team’s prolonged slump. Like the rest of the Celtics, they have been searching for answers, pondering what they can do better. They have experienced a whole lot during their NBA lives, especially for such young players, but this is still new for them.
