Yohe’s 10 observations: A special Penguins debut and Tristan Jarry’s response


The Penguins remained in their early season funk at PPG Paints Arena on Friday against the Rangers.

Somehow along the way, they managed to win their third consecutive game, eking out a 4-3 shootout decision to improve their record to 3-2-0. The Penguins haven’t played anything resembling a complete game, nor have they won a game in regulation.

Still, a three-game winning streak isn’t to be scoffed at and one very important development did take place: Tristan Jarry seemed to find his groove.

Here are 10 observations from the Penguins’ comeback victory.

• Let’s start with the good news. Jarry didn’t see the net in the first two home games of the season after struggling in Philadelphia last week, but the net was his Friday. He stopped 31 of 34 shots and stopped two of three in overtime to ice the victory.
