According to Narayana Montúfar, senior astrologer at Astrology.com and Horoscope.com, the year of 2020 will serve as a threshold to a new way of living and many changes. The new year will feel most intense for Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Aquarius; most challenging for Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn; and most beneficial for Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn, and Pisces.
When it comes to love, Montúfar says that 2020 is going to be a big year thanks to Venus’s retrograde cycle from May 12 to June 24. “Venus retrogrades less often than any other planet,” she told POPSUGAR. “Yet in the middle of the retrograde, it comes closer to Earth than any other planet ever does, making Venus retrogrades very intense.” Montúfar also said that it might not be the right time to start new sexual relationships during Mars’s retrograde period (Sept. 9 to Nov. 13), as the planet rules our sexual vitality, and the retrograde makes it harder for us to access its powers.
For career in 2020, Saturn, the ruler of career and responsibility, will leave Capricorn and enter Aquarius on March 21, which will make collaboration the key to success. According to Montúfar, there will be an increase in environmentally conscious companies and socialist reforms. The great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius, which hasn’t happened since 1980, will also bring a positive change and align us closer to our true identities.
And for health, 2020 will be the year of change. Pluto, the planet of power and transformation, will have a huge impact at a collective level. “Pluto’s transits affect all of us, because Pluto rules things that are out of our control (like the government, the elites, crime, etc.),” Montúfar said, so the new year will be about self-care. The need to have a balanced and nurtured life will be greatly highlighted throughout the year by the eclipses happening in the Cancer and Capricorn axes (Jan. 10, June 21, and July 5).
