Wizards free agency preview: Everything from how the roster stands to replacing Russell Westbrook


Today’s Wizards will not be tomorrow’s. Literally.

Washington’s roster is about as unbalanced as it can get. It’s overflowing with forwards, nearly out of stock with guards and still on a quest to find more defensive help. It needs a point guard desperately. But that’s what happens when a team is only one transaction into a multimove plan.

The Wizards tipped off their offseason with a bang, dealing Russell Westbrook and two second-round picks to the Lakers for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell and the No. 22 pick in this year’s draft, which they then flipped to the Pacers for point guard Aaron Holiday and the No. 31 pick. More moves could come as soon as Monday, when the NBA begins its free-agency period.
