Trainer Michael Trombetta tells the Daily Racing Form that Win Win Win, who competed in this year’s Kentucky Derby and Preakness, will get the rest of 2019 off, with plans for a return to racing next year.
Win Win Win started his career with victories in three of his first four races, then finished third in the Tampa Bay Derby and second in the Blue Grass Stakes before his ninth-place result in the Derby and seventh in the Preakness.
The son of Hat Trick out of a Smarty Jones mare returned to the races July 4, winning the Manila Stakes at Belmont Park. It appeared Win WIn Win might target a race at Saratoga but Trombetta decided to take him out of training instead.
“We had some decisions to make what to do going forward, and we elected to give him a rest now and start back with him in the fall and get him ready for next year,” Trombetta told DRF.
