Wild notes: Kirill Kaprizov, Joel Eriksson Ek set to return Friday, Matt Boldy not taking NHL opportunity for granted

So much of the news surrounding the Wild lately has revolved around which players have been forced to file into TRIA Orthopedics with myriad injuries, so it was a refreshing change of pace the past few days to report on players actually returning to practice, not absent from it, at TRIA Rink.

The two biggest returnees on back-to-back days Tuesday and Wednesday?

Joel Eriksson Ek and Kirill Kaprizov — two of the most important forwards on the team, who are both expected to return to the lineup Friday night against the Anaheim Ducks unless something, as coach Dean Evason said, “unforeseen” happens.

What’s more, Jordan Greenway — who had been playing through an injury until he tested positive for COVID-19 — and Brandon Duhaime returned from COVID-19 protocol and there’s a chance defenseman Alex Goligoski, too, will be able to come off protocol in time to play against the Ducks as long as he’s healthy and feels like he’s in game shape.
