Why Fans Think Sharon is Leaving Chicago Med

A new promo trailer for Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 9 has made fan anxious about S. Epatha Merkerson’s Sharon Goodwin’s fate, with many wondering whether she is leaving the series. This was because the trailer depicted the character in mortal danger. So, is Sharon Goodwin going to meet her demise? Will Goodwin leave town before Season 10 concludes?

Here is what we know on the matter.

Is S. Epatha Merkerson’s Sharon Goodwin leaving Chicago Med?

As of now, there’s no confirmation that S. Epatha Merkerson’s Sharon Goodwin will be leaving Chicago Med.

However, as teased by the promotional trailer, Goodwin will find her life on the line, as a woman named Cassidy attacks and attempts to kill her. She could possibly survive, however, as Dr. Archer finds the two in a tussle and makes an attempt to save Goodwin.

Cassidy had been shadowing Goodwin for much of Chicago Med Season 10. This storyline had been properly explored in Episode 6, where it was revealed that Cassidy’s wife Wendy passed away at the start of the new season because Goodwin chose not to treat her in favor of another patient, a boat driver.

Both Wendy and the boat driver had sustained critical injuries following a shipwreck. However, Goodwin was forced to choose between the two as Gaffney ran out of blood, and only five blood units remained. Goodwin concluded that the driver had a better chance of recovery compared to Wendy.

Cassidy subsequently started harboring a vendetta against Goodwin. The former later stabbed the latter in the abdomen in Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 8. Goodwin started bleeding and began gaining and losing consciousness. During this time, Cassidy and Goodwin had a lengthy exchange where they talked about Wendy’s death.

Goodwin then fully lost consciousness, much to Cassidy’s horror, as the latter appeared to regret nearly killing the former. However, Goodwin regained it when her office elevator opened.

Dr. Archer had arrived to drop off a letter to her. Goodwin used Cassidy’s distraction to smash a whiskey bottle on her head and make her get away by rushing to the elevator. However, Goodwin’s luck ran out as she saw the elevator closing and Archer leaving, much to her anguish. Archer saw what was happening between Goodwin and Cassidy and the latter dragging the former back to her office. This shocked him, as the episode concluded.
