Nearly 30 minutes passed between the time Ryan McDonagh and coach Jon Cooper held court after the Lightning’s 7-2 loss to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night.
They might as well be in two different worlds.
Here was McDonagh emerging from a quiet dressing room, still sweating from the loss in a T-shirt and backward cap. The typically measured former Rangers captain was still stewing, too, folding his arms and shaking his head at times during answers. I barely finished my first question when he delivered the knockout blow.
“There was only one team playing tonight,” McDonagh said. “That was one of the worst performances I’ve seen in a Lightning uniform in our group. …
“Tonight was an absolute embarrassment.
