This weekend’s graded stakes action features a pair of Grade 3 races at Aqueduct and Del Mar, as well as a pair of Grade 2’s at Woodbine.
The G3 Red Smith at Aqueduct is up first, with trainer Tom Albertrani’s Sadler’s Joy as the headliner in the 11-horse field. Other top contenders include Glorious Empire and Red Knight, trained by James Lawrence and Bill Mott, respectively.
In the G3 Native Diver at Del Mar, the top choice on the morning line is Bob Baffert trainee Roadster, winner of the Santa Anita Derby earlier this year. His competition includes Two Thirty Five, a 5-year-old stakes winner, and recent Comma to the Top winner Midcourt.
Saturday’s Woodbine feature is the G2 Kennedy Road, with even-money Pink Lloyd seeking a sixth win in 2019 en route to a bid for another Sovereign Award. On Sunday, the G2 Bessarabian features recent G3 winner Xenobia for trainer Jonathan Thomas.
