This parrot will put your karaoke attempts to shame.

It was discovered that Tico – a double yellow-headed parrot – could carry a tune at the beginning of lockdown.

Now he duets with his guitar-playing owner, Frank Maglio Jr, to the likes of Bon Jovi, The Beatles and Coldplay.

The duo have recorded dozens of cover songs including Here Comes the Sun and Wanted Dead or Alive, as well as famous tracks by bands such as Led Zeppelin and The Eagles.

A video of the pair shows them live in action.

Owner Frank, from Florida, said: ‘We don’t rehearse. I’m in the music equipment side of the industry, so I know how to play a lot of different songs.

‘It’s amazing that he stays in tune, but he sort of does the same thing during each song. He can’t sing the words.’

Frank and Tico have been buddies since 2003, when the former bought the creature at a moving sale.

However, it was only recently that Tico’s musical talent was discovered – leading to lots of fun in lockdown.

While Tico has his own cage, Frank says his musical partner is always free to roam and fly around the house.

The 55-year-old music marketing and distribution representative added: ‘Tico is a really happy bird. He has a lot of freedom.

‘He’s comfortable in his cage, but we do not clip his wings. He can take flight at will.’
