Washington Commanders: Brian Robinson Jr. Week 11 Injury Update

Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. is set to return to the field for Week 11’s Thursday Night Football game against the Philadelphia Eagles, after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury. Robinson had been sidelined for Washington’s losses to the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers, but it looks like he will be ready to suit up when his team faces off against their NFC East rival.

Brian Robinson Jr.’s Injury

Robinson’s injury first popped up before the Commanders’ Week 9 game against the Giants. That’s when he was listed as ‘limited’ during practice, but unexpectedly ended up not playing after the pregame warm-up. Coach Ron Rivera, smartly chose to play it safe. He prioritized Robinson’s long-term health rather than rushing him back too soon which could’ve caused a significant injury. The team kept him out in Week 10 as well, despite being listed as ‘limited’.

Robinson has recovered after another week off. Now he was a full participant in practice on Wednesday. Washington head coach Dan Quinn said Thursday that Robinson’s status for his team’s game was no longer in question, saying he was cleared to play. Fantasy football managers awaiting his return will be pleased with this news.

As the Commanders try to make a playoff push, the offense desperately needs a boost from Robinson who has played a huge role in the team’s running game and will be instrumental. They’ve been relying on Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols, who’ve filled in nicely, but clearly, if the Commanders are to beat the Eagles they are going to need a good game from Robinson because right now the team is one of the best defenses in the league.

With Brian Robinson off the injury report, fantasy managers can start him in fantasy this week, though the Eagles’ defense will be tough. For the Commanders to continue to battle for the NFC East, Robinson will have to be able to carry a full workload.
