Warriors-Pelicans conversation: Upcoming back-to-back could determine battle for the play-in

Will Guillory: First off, thanks for doing this Anthony. It’s a huge week for the teams we cover. The battle for the final spot in the play-in tournament out West begins with a major back-to-back between the Golden State Warriors and the New Orleans Pelicans, which starts on Monday at Smoothie King Center. After those two games, the Pelicans visit Chase Center on May 14.

It’s wild enough to see two teams play each other three times in the final two weeks of the regular season. The fact that these three matchups have such huge stakes for both sides is something the NBA has to be thrilled about as the postseason approaches. And that’s before we talk about some of the star power that’ll be involved in these games —  we’ll get to that later.

The Pels are currently three games behind the Warriors for the No. 10 seed with eight games remaining for both squads.
