Layoffs have finally hit the Warriors. On Thursday, the organization cut the business side of its operation by 9 percent, affecting 39 full-time workers. Four others were furloughed. Nobody on the basketball side was impacted.

The layoffs came in the areas of ticket sales, game presentation and other legs of the organization mostly reliant on a full arena and an event to host. Back in March, the organization laid off 1,720 part-time Chase Center event staffers, but this is the first time the Warriors have laid off full-time workers, joining a large group of NBA and other sports franchises that have done the same since the beginning of this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
