Warriors’ Klay Thompson at a crossroads: Is a full recovery possible?


The Warriors have done well in the aftermath of last week, when Klay Thompson suffered a season-ending Achilles tear on the same day as the NBA Draft. Despite that blow, Bob Myers used Joe Lacob’s “green light” to stock the roster with the kind of long, defensively able talent the team was short on last season. The athletic 2020-2021 roster is interesting at the very least, plus quite capable of exceeding the 39-win total (in a 72-game season) that Vegas projects. In the immediate future, touted No. 2 pick James Wiseman in hand, the Warriors have given themselves a new look and given their fans reasons to watch.

As we track the short term, the big question on the horizon is just what to expect from Thompson’s future.
