Vegas’ Max Pacioretty to miss significant time with fractured foot: Sources

Golden Knights winger Max Pacioretty is expected to miss significant time due to a fractured foot, sources confirmed to The Athletic on Saturday morning. The injury, which reportedly could sideline him for six weeks, was sustained in Vegas’ 6-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night while attempting to block a shot.

Vegas suffered another blow Thursday, as forward Mark Stone had to be helped to the locker room, also with an apparent lower-body injury. The severity of Stone’s injury is not yet known, but after the game, coach Pete DeBoer described the veteran as “locking up” and dealing with a minor injury off and on that hasn’t been enough to keep him from playing.

Later Saturday, DeBoer called Pacioretty week to week and added Stone is out day to day while being evaluated. He added that Nicolas Roy, Brett Howden and Will Carrier are skating and hope to be back in practice Monday, while Mattias Janmark remains in COVID-19 protocol.

In his fourth season with the Golden Knights, Pacioretty has two goals (13 shots on goal) and one assist in two games so far in 2021.
