US Open fears revealed with Wimbledon coronavirus cancellation announcement imminent


With the worldwide nature of the sport, tennis faces a battle to resume at all this year regardless of the hopeful target dates.

And Hordorff, president of the German Tennis Federation, feels that without a cure for the coronavirus, the season is finished.

“[ATP chairman] Andrea Gaudenzi has always said it – the most important tournaments are those of the Grand Slam. We do our best to play. Then the Masters 1000. We will see,” Hordorff told French publication, L’Equipe.

“But at the moment it is not known when the season can resume. We don’t know if we can still play tennis in 2020.

“In my opinion, if you don’t find a vaccine or a cure, the season is over.
