We have moved to the weekend at the 76th U.S. Women’s Open. Four amateurs have made the cut and will play the weekend, including Megha Ganne, who recently finished her junior year of high school in New Jersey.
Ganne shot an even par round on Friday and is 2 shots back of 36-hole leader Yuka Saso, who is at 6 under. One stroke off the lead is 2019 U.S. Women’s Open champion Jeongeun Lee6, who birdied three of the last four holes to match Saso’s 67. Megan Khang is tied with Ganne in third. Shanshan Feng is at 3 under and is in solo 5th. Mel Reid, who says she got some “invaluable” advice from Brooks Koepka, is tied for 5th with Lexi Thompson and Inbee Park.
Historic Olympic Club is hosting the women for the first time and the course is shaping up to be a tough test. The Lake Course is playing to a par 71 at 6,457 yards this week.
