U.S. Trims Roster to 31 at 2019 World Junior Summer Showcase in Plymouth, Michigan


The U.S. returns to game action tomorrow (July 30) when it takes on Canada at 4 p.m. ET here at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. ABOUT THE 31 U.S. PLAYERS


The 31 players consists of 18 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders. Among the remaining U.S. players are 11 first-round NHL Draft picks, including two top-10 selections in forwards Alex Turcotte (Island Lake, Ill./LAK, 2019, 5th overall) and Trevor Zegras (Bedford, N.Y./ANA, 2019, 9th overall).

Through two days of competition, forward John Beecher (Elmira, N.Y./U.S. National Under-18 Team) leads all skaters with four points and three goals while defenseman Christian Krygier (Novi, Mich./Michigan State University) holds an event-high three assists. In net, Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn./U.S. National Under-18 Team) ranks second with a 1.00 goals against average and .963 save percentage while Dustin Wolf (Tustin, Calif./Everett Silvertips) sits third with a 1.92 goals against average and .949 save percentage.
