U.S. Men’s National Team announces roster for January World Cup Qualifying training camp


The U.S. Men’s National Team unveiled its 28 player roster for January World Cup Qualifying training camp on Friday. Head coach Gregg Berhalter selected four goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven midfielders and eight forwards to this roster.

The team will train in Columbus, OH before beginning a vital three-match window in World Cup qualifying. It starts on Jan. 27 in Columbus (7 p.m. ET) where the United States will play El Salvador. Then, the team will travel north to Hamilton, Ontario to take on Canada on Jan. 30 (3 p.m. ET). The final game takes place on Feb. 2 against Honduras in St. Paul, Minn. (7:30 p.m. ET).

The USMNT sits in second place in the Octagonal standings with 15 points (4-1-3 record). The top three countries in the standings will secure berths to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
