SPRINGDALE, ARK. – Tyson Foods, Inc. is putting a better-for-you twist on fried chicken while embracing a trending at-home cooking method with its new Tyson air fried chicken.
Made with no antibiotics ever chicken breast and rib meat, the new air fried chicken products are cooked using circulated hot air with a touch of oil to achieve a fried-like product and texture. This cooking method results in chicken that contains 75% less fat than U.S.D.A. data for traditional chicken breaded fried and boneless, Tyson said.
Tyson air fried chicken is available in three formats: strips, fillets and nuggets.
The air fried chicken fillets contain 180 calories, including 40 calories from fat, and 20 grams of protein per 113-gram patty. The fillets are packaged in 1.25-lb bags containing about five servings.
Tyson air fried chicken strips contain 150 calories, including 35 calories from fat, and 16 grams of protein per 3-oz serving. The chicken strips are packaged in 1.25-lb bags containing about seven servings.
The air fried chicken nuggets contain 160 calories, including 40 calories from fat, and 15 grams of protein per five-nugget serving. The nuggets are packaged in 1.56-lb bags containing about eight servings.
“The first of its kind, fully-cooked Tyson air fried chicken was created with both taste and convenience in mind,” said Colleen Hall, director of marketing for the Tyson brand. “We air fry it for you, so just heat it in the oven for an easy dinner or snack the whole family can enjoy.”
