Tyrese Maxey’s potential, Danny Green’s role and no Harden: Sixers Mailbag


It has been a busy past few weeks for the Sixers. Not only have they gone through a jam-packed part of the schedule with a limited roster because of Seth Curry’s positive COVID-19 test, but they also saw James Harden go to a conference rival. Let’s get to the mailbag.

What do you see as a realistic outcome for Tyrese Maxey? Can he be a starting 2-guard on a contender eventually, or does he project as more of a bench rotation piece? — Benjamin J.

Maxey has shown enough in the early going that it’s safe to say he’s going to be something. Right now, I would say he’s slightly more exciting than effective. He hasn’t been all that efficient, in part because he’s a so-so 3-point shooter (31.3%) and has been allergic to getting to the…
