Tiger Woods creating behind-the-scenes look at back surgery and recovery

Woods injury history has been well documented, but his back injuries in the 2010s were perhaps the most significant in his historic career. Back troubles in the middle part of the decade sidelined him for a better part of two years, and saw him struggle to play competitively for many seasons. As recently as 2016, Woods acknowledged that he may never return to professional golf.

His comeback from those troubles are well known. From the close calls in the 2018 majors, to the breakthrough at the Tour Championship that same year. His triumph at the Masters last year serving as one of the biggest sports moments of the year, and his subsequent victory in Japan to tie Sam Snead’s long-standing 82-victory mark.

Now fans will have a chance to peer behind the curtain during those trying times that led to this new chapter in Woods’ storied career.

“This will be an authentic account of Tiger’s patient journey from the point of view of an individual suffering from the life-altering effects of back or neck pain,” said Centinel Spine Chairman & CEO John Viscogliosi. “We look forward to our continued work with Tiger to better support and educate individuals suffering from pain and discomfort.”

The video is being produced by Emmy-nominated director Kevin Foley and is scheduled to be released sometime in mid 2020.
