A man is being hunted by police after abusing his dog outside a bar.

The thug was seen on CCTV ramming his pet head-first into a fence before repeatedly punching it.

He had become angry after the dog ran into the front garden of the Buffalo Bar in Bournemouth, Dorset.

The bar’s manager Simon Dawson contacted the police after one of his employees called him to tell him what had happened.

Mr Dawson said: ‘I got a call from my staff saying that a man had hit a dog and I wasn’t really sure what to make of it really.

‘I was upstairs at the time and it wasn’t until I saw the CCTV that I realised how bad it was.

‘Hopefully they find him because it was a horrible thing to do – I hate that kind of thing and hopefully he’s caught.’

Police confirmed they were looking for a suspect they described as being aged in his 20s and wearing a blue hoodie, jeans and a blue Nike beanie hat.

PC Emily Watkins added: ‘The footage of this incident is very disturbing and we have made attempts to identify this man, however these have so far been unsuccessful.

‘I am now issuing an image of the suspect in the hope that someone may recognise him.

‘I would ask anyone who knows who he is to please contact Dorset Police so we can investigate this incident with colleagues at the RSPCA.’
