Despite managing to overcome a 2-0 deficit in the series and winning a Game 7 on the road, the Bucks post-game interviews were not overly celebratory on Saturday night in Brooklyn. They were, of course, incredibly happy to get the victory and move to the next round, but the overarching message was clear.
Beating the Nets was not the team’s finish line.
“We just getting started though,” Bucks forward P.J. Tucker said. “Got a lot of work to do.”
That work was started weeks ago by the Bucks’ video room as they prepped scouting reports for the Bucks’ various potential playoff opponents to make sure they were ready for the postseason. With a week left in the regular season, the Bucks were nearly as likely to play the Hawks as they were to play their eventual first-round opponent, the Miami Heat.
