Williams curled his arm around the head of his point guard while Paul grinned from a joy that felt greater than winning as he bear-hugged his coach. They walked off, each with an arm around the other, a new experience added to their bond.
“Man, it’s emotional,” said Paul, who played for Williams in New Orleans in 2010-11.
