Thistledown To Resume Racing June 4; Derby Points Up For Grabs In June 27 Ohio Derby


JACK Thistledown Racino will kick off its 2020 racing season on Thursday, June 4 and will run through Wednesday, October 21.

Patrick Ellsworth, director of racing for JACK Thistledown, will feature an eight race card Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with first post at 12:50 p.m. ET.

The season will encompass select Saturday races including the 86th running of the Ohio Derby on Saturday, June 27 and the Best of Ohio series running on Saturday, August 8. The Grade 3 historic Ohio Derby features a purse of $500,000 making it the richest and only graded race in the state. The 2020 Ohio Derby has been announced as a part of the “Road to Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve.” Points to the top four finishers will be worth 20-8-4-2 on the Road to the Kentucky Derby, which has been rescheduled to run at Churchill Downs on Saturday, September 5.
