This Season 2 Trailer for Legendary Offers Death Drops, High Fashion, and Shade

The iconic voguing competition show Legendary is duck-walking back into our lives. A fierce teaser for Season 2 of the HBO Max series dropped Friday, showcasing plenty of death drops, avant-garde costumes, and heavy shade.

Last season’s star-studded stable of hosts and judges are set to return. Choreographer Dashaun Wesley will emcee. And rapper Megan Thee Stallion, actress Jamella Jamil, ballroom dancer Leiomy Maldonado, and stylist Law Roach will judge. There will also be guest appearances from Tiffany Haddish, Taraji P. Henson, Amiyah Scott, Nicco Annan, Normani, Adam Lambert and Demi Lovato.

The 40-second teaser promises to build on what made Season 1 such a delightful quarantine watch. This time, however, the show will hop over from New York to Los Angeles and spotlight West Coast-based houses. Contestants will hail from House of Balenciaga, House of Chanel, House of Icon, House of Garcon, House of Milan, House of Mugler, House of Prodigy, and House of Oricci.

The teaser also features plenty of camp looks: Megan Thee Stallion serves up Marie Antoinette and Vegas cowgirl-inspired get-ups in the clip.

Legendary celebrates a vital piece of Black and brown LGBTQ+ culture: the house-ballroom community. Premiering last year, the series aims a decidedly queer lens at the dance competition genre, pitting different “houses” against each other for a $100,000 cash prize.

Season 2 of Legendary will premiere May 6 on HBO Max.
