This Commanders Rookie Running Back Is Showing Promising Early Signs

Going into the 2022 NFL season, the Washington Commanders seem uncertain who the full time starting running back will be. The answer right now would seem like 24-year-old Antonio Gibson who the Commanders used the 66th pick on in the 2020 NFL draft. Gibson is coming off an 1,000 yard (seven touchdown) rushing season that also saw him catch 42 passes for 294 yards and three additional scores. Gibson has said he feels confident going into his third season with Washington. He also cited fixing mistakes such as always looking to create a big play, and slimming down to improve his quickness this season. The 29-year-old J.D. McKissic will most likely start the season as the number two back. McKissic rushed for 212 yards (2 TD), while catching 43 passes for 397 yards and two touchdowns.

Then there’s the third option rookie who deserves more hype: Brian Robinson Jr.
