Silva went down injured in the 34th minute after clashing with City midfielder Phil Foden in the air. He appeared to land awkwardly and was in visible discomfort as he winced while holding his groin.
There was a break while the Brazilian received treatment. He seemed to be fine to carry on and went back onto the pitch.
However, in the 38th minute Silva went down injured again. Tuchel was forced to substitute him off for Christensen.
How much of a blow is this for Silva?
It’s huge. Silva was unable to lead PSG to the Champions League last season before moving to Chelsea.
At 36, this might be one of his last opportunities to win the Champions League and he is no longer able to influence the final.
And is it an issue for Chelsea?
Silva has been huge for Chelsea this season and they have looked more solid with him in the side throughout the campaign.
However, they did manage to beat City in the Premier League earlier this month without Silva in the side.
