The importance of role players, and other things learned through the Warriors’ first three games


The Warriors are 1-2 after finding some rhythm against the depleted New Orleans Pelicans. The first two games were bad enough to put the Warriors in some headlines. Their latest game was at least positive enough to temporarily take the Warriors out of them.

The blowouts prompt the “What did we learn?” question from “Burn After Reading,” a question floated in the aftermath of a confusing, half resolved, minor catastrophe. While the CIA bureaucrats in that Coen Brothers movie were at a loss for words, it’s a bit easier to draw some conclusions about the early 2019-20 Warriors.

Not all role players are equal
