Helmut Jahn was one of the most flamboyant architects of the postwar era. The German-American developed a bold, bombastic form, designing company headquarters, banks, airports and government buildings across the world that caught the power-dressing pomp of the 1980s. This skyscraper, completed in 1987, burst through Philly’s height limit.
