T. Hasegawa debuts Japanese citrus flavors



CERRITOS, CALIF. — T. Hasegawa USA, Inc. launched a new Japanese citrus flavor portfolio.

Flavor profiles include Yuzu, a sour and tart flavor resembling grapefruit with a hint of mikan orange; Sudachi, a slightly spicy flavor with tanginess accented by bergamot notes; Kabosu, a mildly sweet and juicy flavor with slight metallic notes; Mikan, a fresh and sweet flavor with a juicy character; Shikuwasa, a rich citrus flavor with a sour taste; Iyokan, a sweet and sour flavor similar to orange; Natsumikan, a slightly bitter and sour flavor; and Hassaku, a fresh flavor with floral and grapefruit-like notes.

The flavors are suitable for use in beverages, baked foods, dressings, dairy, frozen desserts, sauces, seasonings, snacks and more, and are available in water-soluble, oil-soluble and powder form, the company said.
