Students Reflect On Love, Friends And Connections: Week 5 Of #MyTopCollege

This week colleges and universities across the nation reminded us that one of the most crucial elements of the college experience is the relationships we build and the people we meet along the way.

California State University — Fullerton maintained their lead this week, coming in with well over 300 submissions and keeping their top spot as the No. 1 university in the competition.

Students at CSUF told us about the professors that shaped their future.

In turn, CSUF faculty members shared their love and dedication to students.

Taking the second spot overall and the top spot in the medium school category, Widener University told us tales of friendships developed even before the onset of freshmen year.

They shared their stories of first love, bolstered by the support of Widener friends.

Owning the small school category since the beginning of the contest, Sweet Briar College continued to draw us back into their school history, telling us about the people who inspired them

While our top schools continue to motivate, consistently sharing their love for their school, other contenders in the competition like Otterbein University continue to up the stakes as they tweet about their friendly campus culture.

As Forbes prepares to release the annual Top Colleges list in August, we are interested in what you have to say. We invite students, faculty members, parents and alumni to help us create a different kind of list through our #MyTopCollege campaign built around recognizing schools based on personal experiences and student satisfaction.

Although the contest does not impact the Top Colleges list, we will spotlight colleges and their top submissions in our Top College hub, where you can also keep track of the weekly leaderboard.

There are only two more weeks left in the campaign before we announce the winners in our three categories: small schools (fewer than 2,000 students), medium schools (2,000-15,000 students), and large schools (more than 15,000 students).

As we near the end of the contest, we want to hear more of your stories. So keep posting with #MyTopCollege and tagging us and your school.

Read more on how to participate in the campaign here, and follow @ForbesEDU to see the Top Colleges team’s favorite posts, as well as our featured Tweet of the Week.

This week we focused on the past, examining the connections that shape a college experience. Next week, we’re finally moving into the future. Tell us about what you think your school will look like in five years, 10 years, 50 years down the road.
